Our Team

  • Ernest Thiessen, President & CEO

    Ernest is expert at developing new businesses, with more than 20 years experience in technology markets. As President & CEO of iCan Systems Inc. Ernest led the development of the Smartsettle technology that powers Dutch eAuction. Ernest is the principal inventor of the ICANS patent. He holds a PhD from Cornell University in water resources systems planning and analysis.

  • Carissa Boynton, Chief Marketing Officer

    Carissa is a seasoned marketing and sales executive with extensive background in web, high tech, and media. Carissa is also Senior Researcher with iCan Systems Inc. and is a Certified Smartsettle Facilitator. She enjoys the energy, creativity and endless to do lists of great start-ups, is excited to be part of Dutch eAuction, and is looking forward to what is sure to be exponential growth.

  • Derek Barber, Chief Technology Officer

    Derek has been involved in high-tech development for more than 15 years and has experience in a wide variety of verticals. Derek’s overall experience covers technology, product design and management and knows how to bring a product from inception to full-fledged launch.

    Kristi is a competent business administrator efficiently managing finances, day-to-day company needs and supporting co-workers and clients. Her passion is to meet and then exceed expectations.
